387 Vets ‘first’ practice ever to win three Petplan Vet Awards

387 Veterinary Centre had the most amazing night at the Petplan Vet Awards 2017, held at Birmingham Town Hall on Thursday 6th April. The practice won three of the 5 practice-based awards, which no other vet practice has ever achieved in the 18 years the awards have been running. Receptionist Joanne Civil won Support Staff of the Year, Nicky Smith won Vet Nurse of the Year, and the last award of the night, Practice of the Year, went to the 387 team.

The annual awards – hailed as the oscars of the veterinary profession –  are specially designed to recognise staff who go over and above the course of duty in their daily work to make a real difference.

Independent judging panels of leading professionals and past Petplan winners read through over 17,000 nominations in support of veterinary staff across the UK to whittle each category down to three (in the case of Vet Nurse, four) finalists, before winners are announced at the Awards night.

The whole 387 team attended the prestigious Petplan gala dinner which was hosted by comedian Rob Beckett.

Commenting immediately after the announcement of the Practice of the Year award, Hamish Duncan said, “We are all just over the moon. 387 is an amazing place and we couldn’t be prouder of our team. The past 10 years in the surgery have been amazing, but there are no words for winning this prize.”
