For today’s advent feature, we wanted to say a big thank you to Mark, Marie and their dog Molly, who have been collecting for charity in an ingenious way. Every time they spot a dropped penny or any lost change when they are out on their dog walks, they pick it up and save it. On totting up their collection, they have astonishingly collected over £12 which they brought into practice last week for us to donate to a pet charity of our choice.
We have always been avid supporters of The Cinnamon Trust, the national charity for the elderly the terminally ill and their pets. We are sure this donation will be very gratefully received and will provide a Christmas treat for some of the pets in their care.
How The Cinnamon Trust supports pet owners:
The Cinnamon Trust works to overcome difficulties and anxieties to keep elderly and terminally ill pet owners and their pets together. Over 15,000 community service volunteers provide practical help on a day to day basis, such as walking the dog for a housebound owner.
A national fostering service is also provided for pets whose owners have to spend some time in hospital.
And the Trust provides long term care for pets whose owners have to move to residential accommodation which does not accept pets, or when owners have sadly died. Arrangements are made between owners and the Trust well in advance so owners have peace of mind that their pets will have a safe and happy future.
