We’ve seen several dogs in practice with painful paws and ears, where grass seeds have penetrated under the skin. Be mindful that if your dog appears to have sore feet, or is agitating at their ears then this could be the cause. Do check between toes, on paws and on ears after dog walks and also groom any areas where your dog’s fur is particularly thick. One of our nurses has a dog who is a repeat sufferer of lodged grass seeds, and poor pup had one lodged in the roof of her mouth last week! Ouch!
