Our student nurse Amy has been nursing a guinea pig that she took in as a rescue case, although unbeknown to her at the time, little guinea pig was pregnant! Mum, who Amy has named Augustine, gave birth to 5 beautiful babies just last night. Here, Amy is holding one of the pups an hour or so after birth. You’ll notice that guinea pig babies are born with lots of hair, and they will race around within minutes of arrival – hard to believe they are new born babies at all! Congratulations to little Augie on the safe arrival of her babies, and we can’t wait for Amy to show us some more photos of proud mum and pups!
