Not an impressive full moon, but a microscope slide showing ear mites we took from a cat’s ear. The cat was in for a castrate but on prepping for theatre we noticed the inside of his ears had a black crusty discharge – a common sign of mites. When we looked through an otoscope to view inside the ear, we could actually see the mites moving around. Itchy!!! The cat’s ears were carefully cleaned and treated with ear drops. No more scratching now!
