For this week’s Feline Friday post, we’re flagging up International Cat Care’s ‘Keeping Cats Safe’ focus for September which is ‘Cats and Paracetamol’.
Paracetamol is a mild analgesic that can be used for a wide range of human ailments, and is a pretty standard painkiller found in most households. Whilst useful to us, it’s very toxic to our feline friends and shouldn’t be given to cats under any circumstance. Cats are unable to break down paracetamol and the toxins produced can cause serious liver and red blood cell damage and even death.
