This is fabulous Bear who has been coming in to see us for laser therapy for his arthritis. The 8 year old Newfoundland cross is such a good boy and always sits beautifully for his treatments as you can see in this photo!
Low level laser therapy can be really helpful for pets like Bear who are struggling with stiff limbs and aching joints. The treatment acts as a medication-free pain suppressant by stimulating the release of endorphin which is a natural pain inhibitor and serotonin which makes us feel happier. The treatment also suppresses the targeted area’s pain receptors, dumbing down the ability for the body to feel pain.
Laser therapy can help with a wide range of other health issues too from rehabilitation, wound repair and post-op recovery to helping fight infection. Did you know that we now give our neutering cases post-op laser therapy to stimulate cell growth for faster recovery?
Low level laser therapy has lots of benefits and it’s super friendly for pets. It’s a silent, non-invasive procedure, so there’s no fur clipping or sedation, it’s meds-free, quick and cost effective and can be used on its own or as a complementary therapy alongside other treatments.
