A special hello to Flora who was in for surgery yesterday at 387 Vets for mammary tumour removal. Mammary tumours are quite common in rats and can grow really big really quickly so it’s best to get them removed early if possible, as in Flora’s case. Though not all tumours are malignant or cancerous, the size non-malignant tumours can grow to can restrict movement and quality of life if left untreated.
Do get unusual lumps and bumps checked out, whatever your pet. If it’s nothing, it’s great to have that peace of mind. But if your pet does need further treatment, early diagnosis is always best.
