We’ve recently had a few clients bringing in puppies and kittens who have been microchipped elsewhere or by breeders, and when we have scanned them, the pet’s microchip  has not been registered. This means that if your pet goes missing, the microchip is not holding the data required to reunite you both and to do its job! Do make sure at the time of microchipping, that the vet or vet nurse registers the microchip for you and submits your details. If you are at all worried that this has not happened, we’re very happy to check your details are logged on the relevant database.  Or to update your details for you if you’ve recently moved house. Just give us a ring to arrange to pop down with your pet and see one of our vet nurses for a free microchip check.
