This is our vet nurse Sophie all snuggled up to illustrate National Pet Month’s top tip number 4 for responsible pet ownership:
Provide suitable housing and bedding
As pet owners, we have a responsibility to make sure our pets have a comfortable, safe living environment and sleeping area and are protected from the cold and wet. Their beds – and their homes – should be secure, clean, dry and warm, and pets should have room to move about, stretch and exercise. For rabbits, their living area should include an external run outside their hutch, or if you’re keeping indoor rabbits, plenty of opportunity to hop around the house. But make sure all electrical cables are out of reach as rabbits like to nibble!
Always ensure pets have access to clean water at all times.
