We have recently invested in a Bair Hugger, a ‘forced-air warming system’ for use during surgery to prevent unnecessary hypothermia. They have been used for years in human hospitals as the most efficient way of warming patients during surgery, but have only recently been adopted by vets. We will be using the Bair Hugger as standard during any anaesthesia likely to last longer than 20 minutes. For more information about the Bair Hugger please visit the makers website at www.arizant.com/us/bairhuggeranimalhealth
