A big welcome to Carlos Boix Boente, the newest additional to our now 5-strong team of vets! Many of you will already know Carlos as he has been a familiar face here as one of our locum vets. You may also know that he is married to our vet Emma, and that the couple have recently celebrated the birth of a new baby girl. Whilst Carlos actually started his new role at 387 Vets in November 2019, today sees Carlos return from his paternity leave!
Carlos graduated from Madrid in 2001 with a degree in veterinary science and has been mostly Midlands-based since 2003, with a break of four years to set up a vet practice with Emma in Spain. His small animal experience is extensive, working in a permanent and locum vet capacity in independent, corporate and PDSA practices across the region.
Carlos is also a postgraduate certificate holder in Small Animal Surgery, which enables him to carry out many procedures which would normally need to be referred to a specialist referral centre. In his most recent role, he was responsible for carrying out orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries referred from other practices within his veterinary group. Regular procedures undertaken included fracture and dislocation repairs and TTAs for cruciate ligament repair, as well as reconstructive surgery around tumour removals, and perineal hernia and polyp removal.
We’re delighted to have Carlos on board and to expand the services we are able to offer our clients at 387 Vets
