This is a picture of an accumulation of excrement (known as a faecolith) removed from a rabbit with a very mucky back end today. It’s really important to keep rabbits – and their hutch environment – clean, especially during the warmer summer months. Flies can be attracted to mucky back ends, lay eggs and when the eggs hatch, the maggots feed on the rabbit.
