You may have seen our practice manager Rachel jogging round the streets of Great Wyrley recently and looking slightly out of puff! She is currently training for the Lichfield 10k and not being a natural distance runner, although she’s looking forward to he challenge, she is slightly nervous about all the uphill on the race route!
Rachel will be running on Sunday 10th September to raise funds for the Stafford branch of the Samaritans. She’s chosen this charity as all the 387 team know just how hard it can hit some people when they lose a beloved pet. Having the opportunity to talk to someone at anytime of the day or night, who is trained to listen and support, has been a real lifeline and comforter for some of our clients. And with mental health being such a hot topic in the vet world too (did you know vets are 3-4 times more likely to commit suicide that the average person?) the Samaritans seems a particularly appropriate choice.
If you’d like to support Rachel, click here to access her Virgin Money Giving page (Rachel Duncan’s fundraising page). Any donations would be very gratefully received. She promises they will make her run faster!
