Poor greyhound Rosie came in to see us as she had been out on her dog walk and picked up this rather nasty foreign body. The thorn had lodged itself under the skin on the side of Rosie’s stomach and it was so well entrenched that we needed to sedate her to remove it. On extraction, the thorn tip turned out to be an eye-watering two inches long. What a relief it must have been for Rosie when the thorn was removed!
