Spanish treat at coffee time

Roscon de reyes

We had a treat at coffee time today, made by Emma’s husband Carlos to wish us all a happy new year. This ‘Roscon De Reyes’ is a typical Spanish after Christmas treat, and is normally eaten for breakfast on 6th January, the day when the three kings visited baby Jesus. Hidden inside the sweet bread is a tiny gift, and whoever finds it is said to receive good luck for the rest of the year. After much anticipation and excitement, Sophie was the lucky one to find the hidden coin!  Thank you so much Carlos for the delicious surprise – most of us have had 2 slices already it’s so good!
