This is Ollie who has been in this morning to have his eye pressure checked. To do this, we use a brilliant veterinary-specific tonometer called a Tonovet®. The device works on a rebound-measuring principle. A light probe makes momentary contact with the pet’s cornea and gives a reading of the pet’s intraocular pressure (eye pressure). If a pet’s eye pressure is too high, or too low, this can be symptomatic of more serious eye disease. The Tonovet® helps us in making a diagnosis and in monitoring the control of a problem. It can literally be sight-saving! And it’s so gentle, pets barely notice it and don’t even blink!
WelI done to Ollie for being such a model patient today!
