It’s National Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month! Big appreciation to Nicky, Amy, Sharon and Sophie – our Registered Veterinary Nurses – and to Jodie who has just passed her nursing exams, and to Jenni, our trainee nurse, too. We can’t thank you all enough for all the work you do in practice.
All of our qualified nursing team have either completed nursing diplomas or degrees and are bound by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons’ Code of Professional Conduct. So when you see our staff wearing a ‘Veterinary Nurse’ badge you know your pet is in the best of care. Look too for the special veterinary nurse brooch on our qualified nurses’ lapels which is issued by the Royal College in recognition of their qualification. And their dark green tunics show they are qualified too.
Unfortunately, the term ‘Veterinary Nurse’ is not protected. Do be aware that this means anyone can wear a badge with this title, regardless of experience or training. If you do use another practice, make sure you know who’s looking after your pets! Click here to read more.
