VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST

About the role:

We are looking for the right candidate to fill a new position as an additional receptionist at 387 Vets. As proud holders of an RCVS Client Services ‘Outstanding’ award, we would love to appoint someone with excellent people skills. Your responsibilities will include meeting and greeting clients, booking appointments, managing phones and helping to deliver the excellent customer service that our clients expect.

You must be dedicated, hard-working, keen to learn, happy to work as part of a team and be flexible – and, of course, love animals as much as we do!

Reception experience is essential and previous in-practice experience would be preferred.

You’ll work a 5 day week (hours to be confirmed but likely to be 9am-3pm or 9am-4pm), have 4 weeks’ holiday (plus bank holidays), enjoy a day off on your birthday, can take advantage of our pension programme and will have access to our other team benefits. Salary dependent on experience. Limited Saturday cover also required as part of your role for when our trainee nurse is on annual leave.

About us:

387 Veterinary Centre is an independent, small animal, single site veterinary practice located in Great Wyrley, South Staffordshire.

Everything we do is gauged at delivering high quality professional care for companion animals coupled with a personal service for their owners. This is one of the reasons 387 Veterinary Centre were winners of the prestigious Petplan Practice of the Year Award in 2017, with two of our team members also winning their own respective role categories. We were the first practice ever to scoop three of the five main awards on the same night in the 18 years of the event!

The practice is owned and run by Advanced Practitioner Hamish Duncan, and the team includes three other veterinary surgeons, two with additional postgraduate qualifications, four highly qualified RVNs, a trainee nurse and an experienced receptionist. We actively support CPD and niche interests and invest in cutting-edge equipment to enable us to perform to the best of our ability and give best diagnostic and surgical service to our patients.

As well as developing individual job-related skills, we are also invested in team wellbeing. In 2017, we became the first vet practice in the UK to hold Platinum Investors in People Accreditation as well as being winners of an inaugural SPVS/ RCVS Mind Matters Wellbeing Award. And we’re all just about to complete a 20-week wellbeing programme to help us with stress resilience at work.

Sound as though we’d be the perfect match? Then please get in touch!

Send your CV and a covering letter to our Practice Manager, Rachel Duncan at rachelduncan@garrym19.sg-host.com.

The practice is owned and run by an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine, and we have two other full time vets on site, one with a Certificate in Feline Practice.

We are passionate about clinical standards. We are an RCVS Accredited Small Animal Practice and holders of two additional RCVS awards for Client Services and Team and Professional Responsibility. The practice is also proud to be an  ISFM Gold Cat Friendly Clinic, and the first vet practice in the UK to achieve Platinum Investors in People Accreditation.
