Gorgeous three month old Winston came in for a stay with us earlier this week to have his ‘cherry eye’ fixed. Cherry eye is where the third eyelid gland prolapses and then bulges out from behind the third eyelid. Little Winston had the gland stitched back into place using a pocketing technique, as removal of the gland can lead to dry eye, an uncomfortable condition where the eye doesn’t produce enough tears. The British bull dog puppy was a delightful patient and super playful, even post-op! Here he is tucking into a toy on our recovery ward!
